OUR MISSION
TROW Group Tonga’s mission is to foster sustainable development by providing access to affordable, high-quality, second-hand furniture and building materials that enrich the lives of the people of Tonga. By sourcing these goods through our subsidiary in New Zealand, we actively contribute to a circular economy model. We recover, repurpose, and redistribute valuable resources that might otherwise go to waste while simultaneously providing essential goods to schools, churches, and communities
across Tonga. Our business model is built on reinvesting profits into local initiatives, ensuring that every dollar generated stays within the Tongan economy. This approach allows us to not only meet the immediate needs of our community but also contribute to long-term social and economic development. With a focus on infrastructure, we are particularly committed to supporting the rebuilding efforts following Cyclone Gita, providing critical supplies for schools, homes, and civil infrastructure. By fostering sustainability and self-reliance in Tonga, TROW Group Tonga is more than just a company, it’s a movement towards creating a thriving, circular economy that benefits both people and the environment. Our work is driven by a deep commitment to the Tongan people, with every project aimed at building a better future for generations to come.

OUR VISION
Our vision at TROW Group Tonga is to be a leading force in reshaping Tonga’s economy by integrating circular principles into every aspect of our operations. We envision a future where materials are reused, repurposed, and recycled in ways that support the community and minimize waste. By giving a second life to furniture, building materials, and other valuable resources, we aim to reduce the environmental impact of traditional manufacturing and
waste processes, while making essential goods more accessible to those in need. At the heart of our vision is a commitment to Tonga’s growth and resilience. We recognize the vital importance of infrastructure in a nation’s recovery and progress. That’s why we focus on rebuilding efforts in the wake of natural disasters like Cyclone Gita, and we are expanding our efforts to support civil infrastructure projects that provide lasting value to communities across Tonga. We strive to create a self-sustaining business model where the reinvestment of profits into local development projects leads to the creation of jobs, the empowerment of local businesses, and the growth of a resilient economy. Through our efforts, we hope to inspire other businesses to adopt circular practices, demonstrating that sustainability and profitability can go hand in hand. Ultimately, TROW Group Tonga aims to play a pivotal role in shaping a future where Tonga not only recovers from adversity but thrives through a shared commitment to environmental stewardship, social equity, and economic resilience. We are driven by the belief that by working together, we can build a circular economy that benefits all, creating a lasting legacy for future generations of Tongans.

HALAFONONGA MEI PIHA KI TONGA
Journey from Piha to Tonga
TROW Group founded by Saia Latu salvages hundreds of tonnes of construction waste from Auckland Council and Kāinga Ora projects to re-build schools, social housing, and community centers in Auckland and Tonga. Trow Group is raising awareness about waste and the environment which is not something typically raised in the construction industry. Yes using recycled and environmentally friendly materials for new buildings is not new but reducing the amount of waste coming out of a construction site is new here in NZ. Our methodology has pushed the boundaries and made other companies take notice, it has also made the government make changes in its construction tendering policies, making Trow Group a leader in this space.

Offering relief for Tonga
This video captures an important part of our journey in providing relief to Tonga during Cyclone Gita. In the aftermath of the disaster, many families, schools, and communities were left without the essentials they needed to recover. This container, our third sent to Tonga, was packed with supplies to support our families and staff, as well as vital materials to help our team rebuild community infrastructure.
One of the key areas of focus was Queen Salote High School, where the damage was significant. The materials sent played a role = in repairing buildings while restoring a sense of hope. See more here →
KO E FO’I POLOSEKI NGAUE ‘I NORMAN KING
The Deconstruction of the Norman King Building
This project was never just about deconstruction — it was about connection. From soft stripping through to full deconstruction, every step carried a purpose: to give materials a second life and extend their journey far beyond the site itself. A major part of that journey has been Tonga. Salvaged materials from this project have made their way across the ocean there to support our Tonga Division, where they’re helping to drive local recycling initiatives, strengthen community infrastructure, and bring real impact to families on the ground. This is the heart of our work — making sure what we recover in Aotearoa can also create opportunities and resilience in the Pacific.
