WSP Concrete Assessment

OVERVIEW:

A few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of working with the talented team at McConnell Dowell, who approached us in need of recycled crushed concrete for one of their ongoing projects. To ensure that our concrete met the required GAP65 standard, they arranged for WSP to assess and test our product. The result? A perfect match! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ

According to the statement from the Project Controls Manager, the recycled crushed concrete (RCC) will be used as backfill over the Services Tunnel for the Auckland Hospital campus over the next few months. The use of RCC, rather than traditional crushed aggregate sourced from the nearby Hunua quarry, is a significant step toward environmental sustainability. This shift will help reduce carbon emissions by 6.23 tons of CO2e. The project involves the construction of a 240-meter-long tunnel and a five-storey plant building, with McConnell Dowell and its commercial building arm, Built Environs, leading the way.

Weโ€™re grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this exciting project and look forward to future collaborations with the team.
