TROW X Richmond U13s

OVERVIEW:

This year, we were proud to support the Richmond Rovers Under 13s for their ARL season. For our co-founder, Joe Vagana, Richmond Rovers is where his rugby league story began. While at St Paul’s College, he started playing for the club, and his path took him to Auckland, the North Harbour Sea Eagles, and the Junior Kiwis. Joe didn’t have it easy—he faced challenges and had to work hard every step of the way—but Richmond Rovers gave him the foundation to keep going.

Why We Got Involved

We wanted to give these young players a chance to experience what Joe had – growing, learning, and dreaming big. Supporting the Under 13s isn’t just about providing funds; it’s about being part of their journey, cheering them on, and helping them feel motivated and supported as they develop their skills.

How We’ve Helped

We’ve supported the team by providing new training tops and funding their three-day pre-season camp. The camp gave the boys time to bond, play team games, and get ready for the season ahead. The training tops helped them feel like a team—connected and confident, both on and off the field.

The Impact

The players were excited to know that Joe, someone who grew up at Richmond Rovers and made it to the professional level, was behind them. For a team made up entirely of Māori and Pasifika players, having that connection meant a lot. It gave them encouragement and a real example of someone who’s walked the same path.

What This Means to Us

For Joe, seeing the TROW Group logo on the team’s kit alongside Richmond Rovers was a full-circle moment. Returning to the club where he started and supporting these kids felt meaningful, a reminder of how important community and opportunity are in shaping people.

Looking Forward

We hope these young players continue to grow, enjoy the game, and chase their dreams. We also hope more local businesses see how much difference even small support can make. Being part of these kids’ journey is something we value, and we look forward to seeing where they go next.
