Aim High Cafe Blessing

OVERVIEW:

This week, we were deeply honoured to be part of a special blessing for the next chapter of our sustainable deconstruction project in Northcote—the Aim High Café. In partnership with Eke Panuku, we are embarking on a journey that not only transforms the physical space but also connects us to the community and heritage of the area.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Mahuika Rawiri and Zaelene Maxwell-Butler (Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki) for leading the blessing. Their guidance ensured that all aspects of the past, present, and future were respectfully acknowledged in this space, while also offering prayers for the safety and success of our project team. We are incredibly grateful for their leadership and the energy they brought to the ceremony.

The sustainable deconstruction of Aim High Café is a significant milestone for us as we move forward with this project in Northcote. As we work towards building a more sustainable future, we are equally committed to honouring the past and the rich cultural connections tied to this site. This project represents an exciting opportunity for growth, restoration, and collaboration, and we can’t wait to share the journey ahead with you all.
