Joseph Vagana
Project Delivery
Joseph Vagana approaches his work with a focus on discipline, responsibility, and teamwork. Born in Leeds, England, he is proud of his Samoan and Māori heritage, with connections to Aleipata and Lefaga in Samoa and to Ngāti Kahungunu and Ngāti Porou in Aotearoa. These roots anchor his outlook, reminding him that the strength of a person is measured not only by what they achieve but also by how they contribute to the collective.
Joseph began his journey with TROW Group as a labourer, gaining first-hand experience on site before stepping into project delivery. That foundation taught him the realities of the work and the importance of efficiency under pressure. His earlier roles at Heartland Bank and New World also gave him skills in financial awareness, customer service, and adaptability. Each role strengthened his ability to manage time, budget effectively, and deliver results within tight deadlines.
For Joseph, project delivery is about keeping schedules on track, while remaining calm in pressured situations – Planning for what lies ahead, while remaining ready for the unexpected. His favourite whakataukī, “Mā pango, mā whero, oti ai te mahi,” reflects this belief: when everyone brings their part, the work is complete.
Outside of work, Joseph remembers childhood winters in England, sledding down snowy streets at Christmas. These moments of joy and play are a reminder that life is about balance – serious work alongside laughter, family, and connection.
Looking ahead, he is committed to growing his expertise in quantity surveying, tendering, and procurement. He sees these skills as essential for supporting TROW’s vision of deconstruction that restores the past and builds the future.
