Greg Ah-Colt
Hire/Maintenance Lead
We’d like to take a moment to celebrate an amazing member of our TROW Group family – Greg Ah-Colt, who is marking his 3-year anniversary with us! Over the past three years, he’s consistently brought strength, experience, and resilience to everything he does.
Born in Auckland, New Zealand, with Samoan, Chinese, and Tongan heritage, Greg grew up in Otara, Mangere, and Glendene, and has always carried a deep sense of connection to his roots. His childhood was full of making memories with his brothers and cousins, specifically at the beach. One of his favourite memories from those times was playing touch rugby, which almost ALWAYS turned into full-on rugby league games of a very competitive nature! He reminisces: “Every school holiday, we went to the beach every day with my brothers and cousins. My favourite part was when we’d play touch, but they’d get so serious, it would always turn into rugby league and who could crack the biggest hits!”
Before joining TROW Group, Greg worked at a machinery hire company for over eight years, gaining extensive knowledge in Civil Construction and Machinery. His experience has been a fundamental asset to his role now at TROW, where he’s been able to apply his expertise to help tremendously in our Recycling Yard, Sales, and Machinery Division.
During these last few years, Greg has focused on learning and growing alongside his colleagues. One of his biggest takeaways has been the importance of sustainability, seeing firsthand how materials can be repurposed and reused, which has been incredibly fulfilling. Looking ahead to 2025, he’s excited to continue building on the momentum from last year and help out wherever he can.
His favourite quote that he lives by is “Hard work beats talent,” a motto that perfectly reflects his approach to everything he does.
We’re so grateful for the past three years with Greg, and it’s been a pleasure watching him grow both personally and professionally. His dedication to learning, his sense of family, and his drive to make a positive impact are just a few of the many reasons we’re proud to have him on our team. Here’s to you!
